Residential Care and Independent Living

Paul Campbell Architects is experienced in the design of residential care developments and is familiar with the specialised needs, of both residents and staff, that are necessary to provide a caring and home-like environment.

Paul Campbell Architects prides itself on delivering up-to-date care facilities, that encourage interaction and mobility and provide a personalised, home-like environment for the residents, which is non-institutional and creates a sense of security and privacy.

Residential Care

Our paramount aim in designing residential care developments is to provide the residents with a comfortable, secure environment that imparts a feeling of independence, safety, privacy and general well-being, whilst providing convenience and efficiency for the staff to carry out their daily activities. Through extensive consultation with our client representatives we are able to establish a detailed initial design brief, which ultimately sets out the requirements of the residents and staff.

Many residential care redevelopment projects involve designing for construction work to be carried out whilst the premises are still occupied. We understand that careful analysis of the staging of the construction and close consultation with our client is necessary to ensure minimal disruption to the occupants.

The projects involving redevelopment of existing accommodation and facilities have often involved designing to ensure that:

Independent Living

We understand the importance for people to live independently for as long as practicable. In our designs we are mindful of the accessibility issues for people with reduced mobility, vision or hearing, and recognise the value in creating ‘social’ spaces within the independent living community that encourage residents to interact with each other.

From the master planning stage through to site planning, architecture and interior architecture, we are focused on delivering outcomes that enhance the lives of the residents living independently.
